Staying Ahead of the Storm:

Getting salt down early before the ice pack forms reduces the volume of salt needed to maintain safe roads during a storm.  Our goal is to make a “Brine Sandwich.”

500 lbs of salt will release enough brine to keep ice from bonding to a mile of two-lane pavement.  The key is to apply the right amount and put it in the right place on the road.  For proper application, calibrate your trucks before winter.

During a storm, the lower the temperature the more salt you’ll need.  Study the roads carefully.  When the salt brine is still working don’t plow it off.

And remember to always check your gear before winter comes… and recheck it before going out in a storm.

We need you out there.  Always stay safe… and go home a hero!
